Apple-Candied Bacon with Cider
Ingredients
- 1 package Wellshire Thick Sliced Bacon
- 6 tbsp spiced apple jelly
- 1 tbsp apple pie spice
Instructions
- Place parchment paper in the bottom of a sheet pan, and a wire rack inside the pan. Lay each strip of bacon on the rack so they are just barely touching.
- Heat oven to 400°F. Cook bacon for about 15 minutes.
- Remove bacon from oven (should be partially cooked). Sprinkle apple pie spice over bacon, then spoon jelly liberally all over bacon. Return to oven. Cook for another 15 minutes.
- Bacon should be fragrant, slightly chewy (not crispy), somewhat stiff, and sticky from the reduced jelly. Let the bacon drain on a paper towel to remove any remaining grease.
- Heat your favorite apple cider with any spices or additional fruit zest you want. Pour into your desired glass. Add a slice of bacon with cinnamon sticks and stir. Serve warm.
