Total Time 25 minutes

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup plain panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded cheddar-Gouda cheese mix (it is important to use finely grated cheese - it works a lot better with the fine grate than a larger grate!)
  • 1 3oz package Wellshire Bacon Bits
  • 1 package uncooked chicken tenders

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Cover large cookie sheet with aluminum foil for simple clean up, and spray that with cooking spray.
  • In a shallow bowl, beat the egg.
  • In a large bowl, place bread crumbs, cheese and bacon bits. Mix to combine.
  • Dip each chicken tender into the beaten egg.
  • Dredge each chicken tender in breadcrumb mixture until coated thoroughly.
  • Place chicken on the cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning once half-way through cooking, until chicken is no longer pink in the center and bread crumbs are golden brown.
