Bacon Gingerbread Cake

Bacon Gingerbread Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter room temperature
- 1 egg
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 1 package of Wellshire Bacon Bits
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease and flour a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat together the sugar and butter until smooth. Beat in the egg and molasses, mix well.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt until well blended. Add the dry mixture to creamed mixture in small increments and blend on low speed.
- Lastly, add the water and bacon bits. Transfer to baking pan.
- Bake 45-50 minutes in the oven, until toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool and top with your favorite icing and more bacon bits!
