  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 package of Wellshire Bacon Bits


  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Grease and flour a baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the sugar and butter until smooth. Beat in the egg and molasses, mix well.
  • In a bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt until well blended. Add the dry mixture to creamed mixture in small increments and blend on low speed.
  • Lastly, add the water and bacon bits. Transfer to baking pan.
  • Bake 45-50 minutes in the oven, until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool and top with your favorite icing and more bacon bits!
